[soundtrack] Videos

With having a love for both movie soundtracks and pop songs I wanted to make a song that would combine them in equal measure.

Inspired by 80s movie soundtracks. A mellow and emotional track full of electronic analog sounds with a strong pace, warm supporting bass and cinematic sounds.

This was really inspired by those 90’s Vampire movie soundtracks. I’d really like to get back into doing movie scores.

This Song has haunted me for Years..It’s origin and meaning is Deep..

Back in the early 20s, the name “Rising Sun” was popularly attributed to brothels in our Anglo/American culture. The traditional version of “The House of the Rising Sun” speaks, not of a boy’s experience, but of a girl corrupted into a life of ruin.

According to folklorist Alan Lomax in his book Our Singing Country (1941), the melody of “The House of the Rising Run” is a traditional English ballad and the lyrics were written by Georgia Turner and Bert Martin (both from Kentucky). The song was first recorded in the 1920s by black bluesman Texas Alexander and later covered by Leadbelly, Charlie Byrd, Roy Acuff, Woody Guthrie, the Weavers, Peter, Paul & Mary, Henry Mancini, Dolly Parton, David Allan Coe, John Fahey, Waylon Jennings, Tim Hardin, Buster Poindexter, Marianne Faithful, Tracy Chapman and Bob Dylan . . . just to name a few.

On a very Spiritual of Awareness I feel it’s message is very powerful NOW…

I love the Blues..It is the Root to all American Music…I watched the New Released Spike Lee’s Movie “Chi Raq” and observed that the Young Black Men valued Mostly Three (3) Things… Money (Drug Sales),,Reputation (“I ain’t No Punk”) (I personally Know a lot are ON THE DL), and of course SEX…The Females and let’s not forget the Shemales are GHETTO FABULOUS knowing them Boys make that money and the only thing them boys like just much as that money is that Crack (Ass)..Some of the girls/(boys) get hooked on the other Crack (Smokin’)..The Pleasure Trap usually starts with SEX..So it’s a Low Self Esteem Downward Spiral…It’s characteristic of a life of Working & Hustling til the Sun comes up…It usually leads to Ruin,, Unfairly Long Jail times and even DEATH..

As Aforementioned I love the Blues…This is definitely the Blues with a Hip-Hop Flavor..I hope to remix this with a Serious Spoken Word Cat /Rapper (Maybe ? Chicago’s Gyasi Kress or Chance ), who can deliver a message that can Enlighten those 90’s Babies..

This is real Funk So Turn it up..Blaze One and Dance……

NOTE: MY WORKS ARE PRIMARILY FOR LISTENING AND DANCING, ..YEAH, HEADPHONES ARE REALLY REALLY GREAT… MOBILE DEVICE USERS HAVE THE CUTTING EDGE (Hence…kapnmobile)…ENJOY, ENJOY, ENJOY…

What is system d-128? is it a man, a machine, a monster, a movie?
Its a pseudonym created by Brian Torres Korlofsky
also known as his high school nickname Duey FM.
The idea of the name system d-128 comes from his father’s colorful and futuristic looking blank vhs tapes that were used to record many television programs,
examples of blank video cassettes are: TDK Avilyn T-120, Polaroid Supercolor T-160, Maxell Epitaxial E-180.
System d-128 is a dj, an avid film and record collector, a producer, a director & editor to name a few of his skills, not to mention he has worked off & on with Diplo/Mad Decent since the 1st recordings and videos.
This mix is a combination of rare records, awesome music, movie soundtracks, layers of sounds, multi genre’s/tempo’s and recordings from the unknown.

Video games have come a long way since the glory days of Pac Man or Commando, as did video game music itself. In the evolution we’ve gone from catchy 8-bit ditties to full-blown orchestral scores as compelling as movie soundtracks. Back in the day, one couldn’t have imagined that techniques like serialism or aleatoric would be utilized in connection with video game music. In time, however, every sonic aspect has become a useful tool to enhance gameplay as music started to play a crucial role in creating moods and building experiences.

In other words, of all the things that make a great video game, soundtracks are every bit as important as visuals or mechanics. In this podcast you’ll hear some well-crafted scores from different games in different genres released in the last decade, ranging from traditional tonal to ambient, jazz noire to piano solo. If you are familiar with the games in the playlist you’ll probably recall the moments, but if not you’ll sure create your own ones.

1 – Garry Schyman – Ocean on His Shoulders (Bioshock)
2 – Motoi Sakuraba – Firelink Shrine (Dark Souls)
3 – Gustavo Santaolalla – All Gone (The Last Of Us)
4 – Misao Senbongi & Shusaku Uchiyama – Serenity (Resident Evil 4)
5 – Ron Fish & Nick Arundel – Aftermath (Batman: Arkham Asylum)
6 – Lorne Balfe & Hans Zimmer – Beyond (Beyond: Two Souls)
7 – Garry Schyman – Out the Airlock (Bioshock 2)
8 – Sam Hulick – The Fate Of The Galaxy (Mass Effect 3)
9 – Gustavo Santaolalla – The Outbreak (The Last Of Us)
10 – Garry Schyman – Welcome to Rapture (Bioshock)
11 – Tommy Tallarico – Aurelia (Advent Rising)
12 – Normand Corbeil – Ethan Mars’ Main Theme (Heavy Rain)
13 – Austin Wintory – First Confluence (Journey)
14 – Garry Schyman – Lost Soul (Bioshock)
15 – Akira Yamaoka – Theme Of Laura – Reprise (Silent Hill 2)
16 – Andrew Hale & Simon Hale – Redemption, Pt. 1 (L.A. Noire)
17 – Christopher Young – The Saboteur Theme – Piano version (The Saboteur)
18 – Garry Schyman – Elizabeth (Bioshock Infinite)
19 – Bill Elm & Woody Jackson – Muertos Rojos (Red Dead Redemption)
20 – Shunsuke Kida – Storm King (Demon’s Souls)
21 – Lorne Balfe & Hans Zimmer – Dawkins’ Suite (Beyond: Two Souls)
22 – Jason Graves – Nicole’s Farewell (Dead Space)
23 – Raison Varner – Traversing The Deep (Borderlands)
